How does a TFE working?
A Thin Film Evaporator consists of a cylindrical shell with internal rotor and external heating jacket. The feed is distributed by the rotor blades and spread on the heated wall to form an highly turbulent thin layer. And oil fractions are evaporated and flow out up towards the vapor outlet. Heavy components flow in a spiral path down to the bottom. Compared with kettle reaction, it could avoid overheating, localing heating, oil cracking and fouling largely. It's with short path from distillation to condensation process, could produce high viscosity base oil in a stable high vacuum. |
